Gentle Alternative Protein with Tolerable Taste & Good Value
This hemp protein powder gives a lot of options from adding it to a drink for extra fiber & protein to simply consuming on its own. A spoonful of it has a slight nutty flavor comparable to wheat germ. Unlike flaxseed which sticks to the teeth even after brushing hempseed is easy to rinse & brush off. Supposedly the amino acids in hempseed are more bioavailable than most other plant sources. My observation is that hemp protein didn't result in gastrointestinal upset like soy. As a health nut I get blood tests to see how diet & exercise affects hormones & lipids. I was glad to find out that hemp protein doesn't lower dihydrotestosterone (DHT) like flaxseed lignans did (yes DHT has value & is not necessarily an evil villain conspiring to kill hair follicles & swell prostates to the size of grapefruits).
It's good variety for those seeking alternative protein sources. Amazon charges less for hemp protein than most other locations. I'm quite satisfied with this product.
