The Best Protein Powder Mix I've Tried
I'm not a snacker. I like three square meals. But because I have insulin resistance (pre-diabetes) I was pretty much told firmly I had to have something every 2-2.5 hours to keep my blood sugar steady. Protein powders were recommended (low carb ones).
This one is the best of the various I've tried. It mixes well with water. The flavors are not hideous (I've tried some that made me gag and retch). In fact the strawberry and vanilla are quite pleasant. The chocolate is so-so.
One scoop and I've got my protein and am done. 17 grams of protein at a go. That's excellent. Very low carb. Nice. Doesn't make my blood sugar go wacky.
If you've got Metabolic Syndrome or insulin resistance or even diabetes and you don't dig those bars or want to stop to fix a mini-snack with protein and whatnot between meals this is a terrific solution. And it's not expensive. Stir in water and you're done!

Gentle Alternative Protein with Tolerable Taste & Good Value
This hemp protein powder gives a lot of options from adding it to a drink for extra fiber & protein to simply consuming on its own. A spoonful of it has a slight nutty flavor comparable to wheat germ. Unlike flaxseed which sticks to the teeth even after brushing hempseed is easy to rinse & brush off. Supposedly the amino acids in hempseed are more bioavailable than most other plant sources. My observation is that hemp protein didn't result in gastrointestinal upset like soy. As a health nut I get blood tests to see how diet & exercise affects hormones & lipids. I was glad to find out that hemp protein doesn't lower dihydrotestosterone (DHT) like flaxseed lignans did (yes DHT has value & is not necessarily an evil villain conspiring to kill hair follicles & swell prostates to the size of grapefruits).
It's good variety for those seeking alternative protein sources. Amazon charges less for hemp protein than most other locations. I'm quite satisfied with this product.

Best protein powderI'm a woman and not a body builder but I love this protein powder for a super quick breakfast or an evening snack. It gives you clean burning energy so to speak without the blood sugar crash of candy bars or other less than optimal snack products. It dissolves well with some vigorous shaking in any sealed container--I just use an ordinary bowl-shaped tupperware container.
It contains no fructose and is barely sweetened with stevia extract. That's fine because I can add my own sources of sweetness in the form of organic soy milk that I buy in bulk from Costco. I had my family try it and they couldn't tell this apart from ordinary ovaltine or chocolate soy milk. Even if you're using water or milk unless you're hyper vigilant about sugar intake adding a bit of your own sweetener (I hate artificial sweeteners I'd rather add raw real sugar) would still bring your sugar intake far below most of those other "protein shake" products out in the market while still delivering a dose of high quality protein (whey is superior to all other sources of popularly available protein powders according to the sources I've researched).

My new mandatory supplementPerformance: This product in any flavor has given me the best results out of any Protein Supplement I have ever purchased. I have two brothers who use this product both into heavy weight training and they completely agree. With casual training I saw a difference in my muscle mass in just a few weeks!
Taste: Best tasting protein mix ever! (any flavor). I look forward to having it every time. Mixes quickly and easily in water or milk and tastes great in both!
Note: The Nutrition Label for Vanilla was slightly different than the Chocolate flavor. The Chocolate Flavor is better but only slightly. I rotate through all flavors.
Amazon has the best deal on this product that I can find in store or on-line.
